My name is Ashana and I am a Marine Biologist. I am creating this blog is for me with the help of my boyfriend to show the world who I am.
My journey began after moving to Oahu, Hawai’i. My freshman year of college at Hawai’i Pacific University had it’s ups and downs but was never dull. Being an ocean away from my family for an extended period of time was new, but the freedom helped me grow. Little by little I was figuring myself out, but as the months flew by I knew that Hawai’i was not for me. From one extreme to another, I left sunny and warm Hawai’i for the cold and unpredictable Alaska. Alaska Pacific University opened me up to a lot of self and what APU likes to call ‘active’ learning. The education I received at APU helped me figure out what my life goals are.
I have a B.S. in Marine Science with a minor in Environmental Science. My love of the ocean, rivers, lakes, streams, any waterway you can think of has been with me since I was a child. I would run through the cold waves from the Pacific Ocean. With my love and knowledge of the ocean and conservation, my goal is to educate others for the same passion.
